Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame is a pretty intense bastardization of the original Victor Hugo novel, but I also think it might have been one of the strongest of the 90s Disney films. It’s very dark and mature for a Disney film, and it’s one of the few that I find more enjoyable as an adult than I did as a kid. This song came up on iTunes this morning, and I forgot just how beautiful the lyrics and Tom Hulce’s voice are in this film (beginning at 1:29 or so).
